Benton Pediatrics strives to be a family of people caring for children in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and it is an incredible privilege every single day. This privilege is deepened all the more by the strong history and legacy of Benton Pediatrics.
The practice, originally called Gainesville Children’s Medical Services, was started some 60 years ago by Dr. Kokomoor, who laid a strong foundation long before Dr. Benton joined the practice. Eventually Dr. Kokomoor retired and Dr. Benton took the reins over 30 years ago.
Dr. Benton’s long and storied career has firmly established himself as a foundational figure in general pediatrics in North Central Florida and his strong advocacy work has had a nationwide impact. His example of consistency, personable nature, and drive to always put the patient first has, by God’s grace, led Benton Pediatrics to serve children with great success for these many years. More importantly, he has been a lifeline for so many individual families, helping them to navigate the blessing that is childhood and parenthood. A week does not go by without a parent fondly reminding us of their time here as a patient under Dr. Benton’s care.
Everyone here at Benton Pediatrics is better for having worked with Dr. Benton over the years but he now feels he is ready for a new chapter. Dr. Benton has made the difficult but exciting decision to retire in June of
2022. While he will be greatly missed, we will continue to follow his example of caring for each child that comes through our doors in a way that is pleasing to the Lord.
